Doug and Deb took a bit of time off and visited family on the East Coast. We flew to Atlanta and drove to Kevin & Cynthia’s place in Metter, GA. We had a great time visiting and had dinner in a Mexican place nearby. Thanks for the great time Kevin & Cynthia!
Jordan and his wife, Jenine and baby, Oliver were there also. Oliver is a great little guy. Sure glad to get to see them.
We drove from there to Scott & Lisa’s place in North Charlestown, SC. We went to a historical presentation of southern black culture. Stories were told of how different folks had made history throughout the ages, like the Queen of Sheba and others in Black history. The Spanish moss was really interesting. Lots of bushes filled with beautiful flowers all around. We found some Resurrection Moss growing on an oak tree limb.
We went to the coast of Charlestown and walked through a submarine, Coast Guard Rescue Vessel and an Air Craft Carrier that were on display there.
Scott and Lisa prepared a great fish boil with blue crab, shrimp, oysters, clams and potatoes. Thanks Scott and Lisa for a great time!
We left Scott & Lisa’s home and drove down to Beaufort, SC and attended a church service at Bethel Tabernacle. The service was great and we met Dave and Sharon Barradas and Sharon’s sister and husband, Jan & Gary Hall.
All in all we had a great trip, great company and lots of driving! We flew back to Detroit Monday morning and stopped at Ken and Perline Bellant’s home in Flushing, MI. Perline fixed a great lunch for us and we had a good time talking and catching up on things.
We had a great time on our long weekend away. Thanks to Tim & Mandy Rockwell who stayed back at our home with Heather & Tiffany and all the critters.
